In this Employee Spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce Alex Schwartz, a Senior Intelligent Automation Engineer based in Boulder, CO, USA, and a valued member of Roboyo since July 2022. Alex shares his journey of growth, from mastering tools like UiPath and ABBYY to designing impactful solutions that save clients thousands of hours annually. He highlights his love for problem-solving, mentoring new employees, and exploring new areas like cloud computing, all while striving to evolve into a managerial role. With his creativity, technical expertise, and unique talents, Alex embodies the innovative spirit of Roboyo!
What is your favorite part of working at Roboyo?
It’s the people I get to work with—a group of incredibly bright minds that constantly push me to be the best version of myself. I’ve learned so much here, from mastering UiPath and Power Apps to earning certifications in ABBYY and UiPath. Next on my list? Diving deeper into Azure, cloud computing, and Power Automate!

What excites you most about your role?
My role has grown over time, allowing me to tackle diverse challenges, design solutions, and even mentor new employees. It’s been rewarding to see how my contributions help shape the way we work.
How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
I started as an Automation Engineer and was later promoted to Senior AE. Initially, my focus was developing processes, but now I’m involved in creating designs, supporting new employees and clients with PDDs, and even conducting discovery calls with clients. It’s been a journey of growth, and I hope to continue evolving into a managerial role while staying connected to the technical side.
What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on?
An invoicing process project for a client! It combined ABBYY and UiPath to create a bot that extracts data and processes invoices efficiently. We overcame design challenges, saved the client 2,300 hours annually, and even opened the door to adding more suppliers. I’m especially grateful to my lead, who guided me throughout. The best part? Creating an alternate design that worked even better and was ultimately accepted!
How did you get started in this industry?
I studied Business and Computer Science, and during my senior year of job hunting, I came across an ad from Roboyo. The rest, as they say, is history!

Can you share a recent accomplishment you’re proud of?
My first process definition project was for a project tracker to manage budgets across multiple business units. It was a challenge to gather input from various teams and make the process user-friendly, complete with Power BI dashboards. After rolling it out to one team, the client loved it, and it became a reusable solution for their business and has been expanded to 14 business units. It felt amazing to see it all come together!
What’s the last song you listened to?
I’m all about dubstep! It’s upbeat and helps me focus since I don’t have to worry about lyrics or getting distracted by singing along — perfect for keeping my energy high while working. Marshmello is one of my favorites
Are you binge-watching or reading anything right now?
Yes! I’m hooked on Taskmaster, a British show on YouTube. It’s hilarious and super creative, with contestants doing the most ridiculous tasks.
If you could instantly become an expert in any skill or subject, what would it be and why?
Poker! It’s a game of skill, not luck, and I’d love to take my game to the next level. I’ve done well in casual games and even placed second in a contest!
What’s a hidden talent most people don’t know about?
I can pick a lock! It’s a skill I picked up during a school assignment—pretty random, but also really fun! That said, I must admit I was a bit disappointed when I couldn’t help a friend when they were locked out of their apartment one time.
