What do you like most about the work we do in Roboyo?

I enjoy being in an environment where I can collaborate with talented professionals. I have learned a lot from them and have acquired the means to offer solutions that can have a real impact on our clients’ business.

Essentially, I like to hear about our clients’ problems, extract the main issues they are facing and be part of the solution to a real-life problem.

How would you describe Roboyo’s company culture?

I think what best describes it is its collaborative spirit.

I once heard an analogy comparing Roboyo’s approach to a problem to a prehistoric hunt.

If prehistoric people went in alone to hunt a mammoth, they wouldn’t succeed. But if they did it in a group, where everyone has their own role, the end would be more feasible, the task more achievable.

This analogy for me represents what I like most about the work we do here.

My favorite part of working at Roboyo is the opportunity to be at the front end of technology innovation and problem solving.

How did you get started in the automation industry?

I studied in Coimbra, Portugal. I had my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree in another field – Intelligent Systems. When I finished my master’s, I started to think that it could be nice to experiment in other fields so I reached out to my colleagues that were working in the area of automation.

Then I realized it would be a great opportunity to experiment with various IT concepts and solutions, to explore problem solving and the transformative power of technology.

What are your next goals?

Professionally, my main goal is to continue to grow within Roboyo. Personally, I want to enjoy life more. I want to travel and to be present for my family and friends.

What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

I would say not to fear failure. I am a person that wants to do everything right at the first try. So, it would be nice to know that some past failures led me to the point where I am today.

The IT industry is dynamic, and we have excellent professionals who collaborate to tackle any problem.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with large, international clients and feel very fortunate to have been able to develop my project management skills, which is an area I intend to learn more about.

What is the most interesting project you’ve worked on at Roboyo?

The EDP Project, an energy company in Portugal. It was so interesting the way they encouraged us to contact their clients. I was also very surprised by everything that happened related to innovation. Normally, modeling a process for a company implies defining the start, the flow, and all possible ends. Then the process always follows the same business rules and paths to achieve the outcome, it stays static. But the solution developed for this customer was designed so that the users could build their own flows, and create their own processes.

What’s one thing that we don’t know about you?

People are often surprised when I tell them that I have been practicing self-defense for 13 years and that I like board games a lot.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

To have the ability to instantly travel, have good health, and to enjoy the best parts of life.

… And always know how to pick the best song for the occasion.

Talking of songs … what’s the latest artist you listened to?

Zombie by the Cranberries.

What are you currently binge-watching?

I’m currently watching The Witcher, season three. I’m behind schedule, but I’ll catch up soon!

Is there anything on your bucket list?

I would like to see the Northern Lights.

THANK YOU VERA!
