At Roboyo, our ability to drive cutting edge digital transformation for clients is fuelled entirely by the incredible people who make up this company. In our new Employee Spotlight blog series, we will be exploring what it’s like to work at Roboyo and highlighting some of the incredible individuals who make Roboyo, Roboyo.

In this first instalment, we interviewed Sofia Battilana, Roboyo’s Global Events Manager, about life at Roboyo. Based in Barcelona, Sofia has been a Roboyan since March 2022 and spearheaded the launch of our All Eyes on Automation events around the globe.

What do you like most about working at Roboyo?

It’s impossible to choose just one thing, so I would definitely say the people and culture as well as the endless opportunities: all ideas are welcome and can be heard, and I think this is very unique to Roboyo. “The sky is no longer the limit” is true here at Roboyo. Coming back to people – it doesn’t matter which function or country you work for, it’s in a Roboyan’s nature to be helpful to each other, and that really makes it a great place to work.

How would you describe our company culture?

I think our company culture is very well represented by our Hero values. Roboyo is full of Heroes – and this is clear from the moment you join the company! We definitely take the company culture to the Next Level…can you tell I’m in the Marketing team?

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I actually studied law. But whilst I was studying I was working, and one of the jobs that I had was connected to events and I thought “Well, that’s interesting. I might as well try it out.” And that’s the short version of how I ended up here!

In life in general, it’s really useful to have some background in law. I think everyone would benefit from knowing some basics!

What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?

So much goes into organizing events! From venues to speakers and PR, being able to put on truly successful events takes an entire team of people. There is a lot of planning and organizing that goes into these events so being able to collaborate effectively with people (internally and externally) is a key part of the process. So, teamwork is a big part of my job – and I love it.

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t be afraid of saying what you think, or sharing your thoughts and opinions.

What is the most interesting project that you’ve worked on at Roboyo?

The organization of the All Eyes on Automation event. What we put together in a short amount of time was really impressive and seeing the impact the event had on social media, as well as the feedback we received from attendees and speakers, was brilliant. It’s really motivating to see such an event/project come to life after investing so much in the lead up to it. It would have never been possible if so many Roboyans didn’t get involved as they did, from interns to leadership; from planning to executing. It’s not only the most interesting project I’ve worked on, but is also a great demonstration of the Roboyan pride and spirit.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

1. Limitless flight tickets

2. The ability to speak all languages

3. Good health for myself and my loved ones

What’s the last artist you listened to?

Elsa y Elmar. Their last album is amazing and so peaceful.

What are you currently binge-watching?

I wouldn’t say I’m binge-watching it exactly, but “Friends” is always on in my house.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

Visit Perú. Why? – Landscapes and food!

THANK YOU SOFIA!
