In the second in our series, we interviewed Ema Malasi, Roboyo’s Financial Analyst, about life at Roboyo. Based in Nuremberg, Ema has been a Roboyan since May 2021, after starting her journey as an intern.

What do you like most about working at Roboyo?

I think that every day at Roboyo is different, it’s always changing, always evolving and no day is like any other. I love the outstanding level of collaboration, not hesitating to reach out to people and look for help. There is always someone willing to help. I really think that this is what brings people closer together. I also enjoy the sincere appreciation that I receive not only from my boss, but also from other people I work with. Roboyo is always taking things to the next level.

…And not to mention the table tennis at Roboyo, its part of the company DNA.

“To sum up, working at Roboyo feels like getting front row seats, watching the process of an innovative idea grow into a worldwide business.”

How would you describe our company culture?

I would say the company culture is positive, healthy, friendly, and fun.

What do you think makes our team culture unique?

I think that it’s the team spirit and that doesn’t only apply to my team. Everyone supports each other across different levels, and everyone is open to new ideas and new challenges, questions, and suggestions. I suppose that it is the team and the people that makes the culture.

How has your role evolved over the time since you have been here?

I must say that Roboyo has helped me grow not just professionally but also personally. I started at Roboyo as an intern. At that time, I was full of insecurities and doubts. I think that the hands-on experience and taking real responsibilities in the early stages, really helped push myself out of my comfort zone and gain practical knowledge and experience. Since then, I have been challenged with many new tasks and opportunities. The amazing expansion of Roboyo, has helped me grow together with the company. I am thankful for all the opportunities that Roboyo has offered me, and I am looking forward to new and exciting adventures.

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

Speak up, even if you think you shouldn’t. I should tell myself more often that it is okay to speak your mind.

“People who think that work cannot be fun, haven’t heard of Roboyo yet.”

What advice would you give an intern that has just started at Roboyo?

Don’t be afraid, even if real world responsibilities are given to you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and don’t be afraid to approach people. The experience itself is the best way to learn.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

1. Teleporting myself

2. The ability to speak all languages out there, especially German.

3. Having all the answers that Chat GPT has

What is one thing on your bucket list?

One of the things is to go on an African safari. I thinks, it’s the closest you can get to nature, I really want to do that. I’ve heard from so many people, that it’s an experience out of this world.

If you had to pick a fictional world to live in from any movie, tv show or book which would it be and why?

I am a very big fan of Harry Potter, so I think I would go for that one. I really want to visit Hogwarts.

In which house would you like to be in then?

That’s a good question. I think Gryffindor.
