If love makes the world go round, it’s RPA that makes it seamless. As we celebrate the day of love, a day of hearts and flowers, a day of fancy dinners and expressions of love, our thoughts turn to our love affair with intelligent automation. As with love, RPA spans languages and cultures, it comes in many forms, it evolves and works where all else has failed. And as RPA capabilities continue to expand, the potential processes ripe for automation continue to move into new and exciting areas. Be still our beating hearts!
In some cultures, the bride being late is a tradition but there’s never an excuse for late paperwork.
Working with a Swedish municipality using Blue Prism’s RPA platform, we were able to automate their previously lengthy marriage application process. This included reading orders from the love birds themselves, extracting all personal information, as well as information on the wedding, then transferring that information to different documents for the involved parties such as the Officiator. All using regular expressions to locate and verify the data from the application.
Our automation solution uses coordinates and image recognition to enter the correct information into the different PDF templates the municipality uses to file the marriage. After being entered, the document is double-checked to ensure the information in the document matches the input data from the application. The documents are then sent to the Officiator as well as internally in the municipality to process the completed documents.
After just one year, the time spent per transaction reduced from 75 minutes to 5mins – an impressive 93% time saving and a 25X increase in speed. Employees were freed up to focus on more value-added tasks and the happy couples got their paperwork in time for the big day.
The moral of this story? That love (and RPA) conquers all!
From us all here at Roboyo, a very Happy Valentine’s Day.
