As part of its global Re-Imagine initiative to achieve operational efficiencies, Roboyo helped Kohler Co., a US-headquartered manufacturing company with over 44,000 employees worldwide, establish a Center of Excellence (COE) with the goal of going from pilot to scale within 18 months.
Our client: Kohler Co. is the 3rd largest manufacturer of generating sets worldwide. Based in Brest in Northwest France, SDMO Industries has been designing, manufacturing and installing generating sets from 1 kVA to 3,300 kVA since 1966. The KOHLER-SDMO brand offers a complete range of portable gensets, industrial generators and rental generating sets.
Roboyo developed digital workers for Kohler that reduced process times from 12 minutes to 20 secs.
On just one invoice automation project, Roboyo delivered annual cost savings of €1,2m.
Our automations have freed Kohler employees from over 14,000 hours of repetitive, robotic work each year.
As a result of acquisition, the systems and processes of Kohler’s French business were not standardized with the rest of the enterprise.
Invoice Processing within Accounts Payable was a particular pain point. Without an OCR tool in place, all invoices were read by humans. Processing was labour intensive, taking the time of 14 FTEs.
There was a high error rate and multiple work arounds were required to beat system limitations.
Roboyo was engaged to redesign the entire invoice process.
We deployed an ABBYY OCR engine and a UiPath bot. The scanning of digital (60%) and paper (40%) invoices was fully automated.
By implementing a bar code on each invoice, scanning could be done in batches. Invoices were automatically separated, passed to the UiPath bot for ERP system entry or extracted for exceptions that required human verification.
With just a 7-week implementation, the project enabled the fully automated processing of 75k invoices annually.
The solution is performing with 96% recognition rate. This has reduced verification time from 12 minutes to 20 seconds. Invoice scanning was also streamlined, with all paper invoices now digitally archived.
These efficiencies saved 14 thousand hours of repetitive tasks, enabling Kohler employees to focus on value-generative tasks and delivered year 1 savings of €1,2m.
