Leveraging UiPath for Oracle On-Premises Application Migrations to Oracle Cloud

There is an increasing demand to help organizations that have decided to migrate from their On-Premises Oracle applications such as Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards to Oracle Cloud HCM or Oracle Cloud ERP through the use of automation.

Roboyo is able to leverage UiPath to assist our clients in their migration projects, specifically in the areas of data validation and data migration. Complex mapping tables, interim data formats, and data cleansings are needed to solve key issues from legacy source systems. Once data is converted into a common format, custom conversion programs requiring custom development efforts are typically needed to get the data into the target system.

UiPath is an excellent tool for data migration efforts due to the highly structured, rules-based migration methodologies, apparent in the fundamental data migration methodology ETL (Extract, Transform, Load). UiPath Test Suite can also be utilized to re-test the developed code in multiple environments.

At a Global Social Media corporation, Roboyo developed several UiPath bots to work simultaneously and migrate data in a short timeframe without overwhelming the client’s database. We were able to assist the client is successfully migrating 50,000+ accounts with 300,000 data objects from one bank’s depot system to an external asset manager’s depot system in just 10 days. This enabled us to secure a smooth transition without disrupting client and internal operations.

The bots were able to detect incomplete and faulty datasets to be corrected before completing the migration. During testing, weaknesses of the database and unforeseen opportunities to add quickly developed test cases were discovered. A comprehensive audit trail was also developed for data being migrated from the source to target system.

The main benefits to utilizing the UiPath software for both data cleansing and data migration are increased speed, quality, lower cost, error reduction and comprehensive audit trails.
