What you will learn

This business analyst training course provides a profound insight into Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and the E2E management of RPA implementations with a combination of theory and practical exercises. It includes a detailed potential analysis, in which results include estimated benefits and implementation effort and the creation of a PDD (Process Design Document) alongside other project attributes.

Requirements:

  • Recommended: 2 years of experience as a business analyst or process owner.
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Process mapping background
  • Good understanding of IT and business processes – represents the gap between developers and process experts
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or process improvement background is a plus
 Technical Requirements:

  • Notebook with the following software installed:
  • MS Word and Excel
  • PDF viewer
  • MS Team for Business when conducting virtual training.
Contents / Modules:

  • Introduction to automation: concepts, common roles, key success factors.
  • Market trends and vendor landscape: development of RPA markets, competitor landscape, automation trends
  • Automation spectrum: differentiation from competing & from complementary technologies (RPA, BPM, IDP/ OCR, NLP, low-code, IVR, chatbot)
  • E2E methodology: process discovery (overview, process mining, task mining, business case fundamentals), process definition & optimization, test case development and UAT preparation, process development, go-live and hypercare
  • Operations: support, value creation and management
 Upon successful completion the participant can:

  • Act in his/her role as a bridge between the technical teams and the business departments in the organization
  • Have a good understanding of automation knowledge in the organization
  • Perform the qualification and quantification of opportunities for automation
  • Undertake the creation of detailed process descriptions (post-optimization) and walkthroughs that can be used directly for artifact development
  • Collect test data and test cases as part of process definition
  • Validate change requests
  • Perform benefit quantifications after RPA deployment in collaboration with business intelligence teams
